PERFECTIONISM AND INSECURITY
Sometimes we may think that being a perfectionist is a quality when in fact it is a weakness in our way of being. Perfectionism is related to anxiety and self-devaluation.
Perfectionist children often demand so much of themselves that they do not allow themselves to make any mistakes. In relation to this, they are very afraid of making mistakes. This causes insecurities to appear and when carrying out a task they invest a lot of time for fear of not leaving anything out, they find it difficult to distinguish between what is important and what is not, they need to have so much control of the situation that in reality they get out of control, they are not decisive, they get blocked, waste time, avoid or postpone the work due to insecurity of doing it badly.
It is important to give them tools so that they learn to reduce their level of self-demand and deal with their mistakes in a healthier way.
