Sometimes we can think that being a perfectionist is a quality when in reality it is a weakness of our way of being. Perfectionism is related to anxiety and self-devaluation.

Perfectionist children often push themselves so hard that they don't allow themselves to make any mistakes. In relation they are very afraid of making mistakes. This causes insecurities to appear and when performing a task invest a lot of time for fear of not leaving anything, it is difficult for them to distinguish between what is important and what is not, they need to have so much control of the situation that they actually get out of control, it makes them not decisive, they block, waste time avoiding or postponing work due to insecurity of doing it wrong.

It is important to give tools so that they learn to reduce their level of self-demand and face their mistakes in a healthier way.
